Time for a gratitude update and time to re-commit to this practice. I need to remember gratitude everyday-it makes me feel better and I really need to stay in the habit. Not to mention, it is always fun to go back and read it again. I seem to forget a lot of things, especially the small things, and it is good to have this record of these moments to go back to.
We spent our past weekend on a family trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Nova had a gymnastics meet there and Aaron's parents drove down from Vermont to meet us. We only had about three days together but it was perfect. We lounged at the hotel pool, the boys (including Grandpa) surfed together, we ate at some great restaurants (and some not so great). I often wish the grandparents were a bit more involved in the kids life, I realize it isn't possible with everyone living so far apart. I know I can be better about keeping in touch and I will need to remember that. Our little weekend together was so fun and just the perfect amount of time. Not to mention, we were all on vacation so the time was just there to spend together.
Nova did great in her gymnastics meet. 5th AA with a 37.375 and she placed in all of her events. I was especially proud of her because she increased her AA score all season long and ended the season with the highest score. And...her scores were incredible consistent. 9.375 vault, 9.3 bars, 9.3 beam, and 9.4 floor. I am not a coach or a gymnastics expert but it must be good if the scores can be so consistent across all events, right?
We are back at the work, school, CrossFit, life routine. It is hard though because that four day break gave us all a taste of what is to come in just a few weeks......SUMMER! I know we are all counting down the days. Sawyer and Nova are getting super excited to work at camps with Aaron this summer which is really cool. Aaron has been talking about this since we started the camps and I just could never really see what he saw. I saw little kids, that were going to stay my little kids. He was able to see the long view--and could see a time that they were able and excited to work for the family business. He has that kind of patience to take the long view. I appreciate him for that.
I bought our tickets to Hawaii! Yes, we are going back to Hawaii this summer for a couple of weeks of surfing. We are excited but I was trying to talk Sawyer into a Costa Rica trip instead. There are so many places I want to visit and I only have so much vacation time. I shouldn't complain though....we will have time with family, surf time and time to live Aloha! It will be great. I'm very grateful that the option to go even exists and I can't wait to be there. **Picture above was one of my favorite from the trip. Aaron, his dad, and Sawyer....all surfing pretty little clean waves...together.
