I guess this week hasn’t been the best for writing. Or taking photos. I am going to just compile this whole week into a few bullet points of good so that I can remember and take time to be grateful for those moments.
Monday: I had an uneventful doctors appointment and went to CrossFit with Sawyer. CrossFit was hard but I was proud of myself. I can’t remember the WOD but I do remember that I was one of the first ones done. Granted, my weight is lighter than most people but still, I am proud of myself. Sawyer and I went shopping at Target and ran into Luna and Tiffany again. Love seeing them randomly like that.
Tuesday: I was at my office all day. I walked at lunch with Mary and we watched airplanes work on their landings. After work, I picked up Sawyer at CrossFit and got to watch him finish up his DOUBLE WORKOUT! He is amazing.
Wednesday: Another long tele-work day. I sat down and worked hard until it was time to pick up the kids. Got a ton done! Sawyer and I went to CrossFit and I was just so tired. I really cheated on the Whole 30 today, with lots of cheese and tortillas, so I think it bogged me down. Also, we had to row and I don’t have the technique down for rowing. I didn’t do very well but Sawyer was still so happy and encouraging. I love him. After, we went home and did homework and watched an episode of “Thirteen Reasons Why” together. I love that he is growing up but it makes me sad too. I need to savor these little moments when he wants to include me in things.
Thursday: I was at my office for the day and had a nice walk with Mary before our lunch meeting. I left around 4:00 pm to get to Nova’s choir concert—which she told me started at 6:15 but really didn’t start until 7:00. The kids had stayed at school hanging out with friends while waiting for the concert to begin. I was a bit worried about their plan to just hang out, order pizza and wander around—but I know I need to trust them and I do. They had a great time and all was good. The concert was great too! Beautiful songs by all of the choirs interspersed with senior performances. My favorite was this kid (and his band) playing The Seeker by The Who. Definitely rock star potential. He reminded me of myself and friends during our punk rock days.
OH! Another cool thing....my blog has been getting lots of traffic the past few days. I thought it was because of the Paleo Carrot Cake I posted on Sunday but it seems to be related to grapefruit pound cake I posted a couple of years ago. I don't understand Google or internet traffic but I am happy about it.
