Nova's friend slept over last night and I think they must have been up late. Sawyer and I were wanting to go out to breakfast and they were just out. Sawyer got this great idea to pour water on Nova to film for his YouTube channel. I agreed to help him. Looking back, it was kind of mean but it really showed Nova's true fun-loving spirit. She didn't really even get upset--just kind of looked shocked and then tried to go back to sleep. Later, she was able to laugh about it a bit.
We went out to breakfast and then came home so the kids could play in the pool. While they did that, I started to blow the leaves in the backyard. Normally the yard guys do that but lately they haven't been. I decided to do it myself and actually really enjoyed it. I had my music on, it wasn't too hot and the work was satisfying. The battery died too early and I wasn't able to finish it. I will definitely go back out there today to do some more work. The blower that Aaron bought (and I argued with him about) was great. It is light, quiet, but powerful......I highly recommend it. Sawyer and I bathed the dogs today too. They really needed it.
After the pool, we dropped off Nova's friend at her house, grabbed dinner at Whole Foods and then headed to the beach. Mary and her family met us there to watch the sunset and have a quick swim. Aaron showed up right before the sunset, which was nice.
I celebrated my birthday week by sharing a slice of chocolate cake with the kids.
