Bored

bored at the office selfie

I had an appointment with Elaine today and she gave me lots of good things to think about.  She really is pushing me to focus on MY life and not really worry much about what is going on with Tiff, Aaron or anyone else.  Of course, she encourages a loving and supportive family but really wants me to get back to a place where my sense of self is stronger.  I am working on it and it is always good to talk things through with her.

Because of my early morning appointment, I got to the office late and thought I would just hit the ground running to get stuff done, but my brain just wasn't working.  I mailed off a card to my mommy and created a fun little postcard for Jennie and Pecky.  I started to take weird selfies in the office when I realized the day was just getting away from me.  With a little kick, I was able to switch focus to real work and just get it done.

I left the office in time to pick the kids up from the bus.  Sawyer had his school dance and Nova had practice so it was going to be a solo Friday night again.  Aaron had to deliver a bunch of boards to a paddleboard race and I thought he was going to just be doing that.  Luckily (for our poor grass), there was a great big rain storm and Aaron was able to meet me for pupus and a beer at the Rusty Bucket (meh....).

His rain delay made it so he couldn't pick up Nova and I would have to.  I grabbed Burger Fi for her on-the-go dinner and she and I drove to the school to pick up Sawyer and his friends from the dance.  They all had such a great time at the dance and it was fun to see all of the 8th graders dressed up and still being goofy.  I never went to anything like that when I was in 8th grade and really love that they are getting these experiences.  In the whole story of our lives, it probably doesn't matter that much, but I'm happy they get to participate.

Once we dropped friends off at around 11:00 pm, we were all tired. Our normal bedtime is 10:00 so being out and about that late is not the easiest for any of us.

Goodnight!
