Sometimes, it feels that the days are so boring. The same thing everyday, day after day. I feel like that a lot about the weekdays. They fly by with the regular old stuff--school and work, homework, housework, breakfast, lunch and dinner. I need to remind myself that the regular stuff is what we want. We want to just live life. I write here to remember all of this. To remember that all of it is what makes a complete and full life.
Today was a work day. I headed up to my office after dropping the kids off at the bus. I like our quiet time together in the mornings, waiting for the bus, hearing about the plans for their day.
Things at my office were pretty uneventful. I went on a nice walk with Mary and had lunch at the college. I am so glad she has moved here and is always up for a walk or a lunch. I love that our connection goes back almost 15 years and spans three states.....Washington, Hawaii and now, Florida. Old friends are the best friends.
We walked past a cool pirate ship near our office getting set up for some sort of performance. As we were standing there a guy walked up and said, "We are so lucky to live in St Pete with all of this cool stuff happening all the time." I needed to hear that. We are so lucky to live in Southwest Florida. It is beautiful here and there are lots of neat things happening all the time.
After work, the kids and I went grocery shopping and then came home and made dinner (homemade pizza and poke). It was great having Sawyer in the kitchen with me mixing up the poke himself. I kept having to remind him that you really can't mess up poke and he was happy with the way it turned out.
As Nova did homework, I laid in bed with Sawyer and watched an episode of Grey's Anatomy with him. It was a pretty intense episode and he called me in to watch with him. I decided to turn off Trump's speech and spend the time with boy.
