Finally! I went to the doctor for this sickness that has been plaguing me. Not sure that she prescribed the correct drugs for me but I am going to trust her and see if I can't get this sinus infection to clear up. I am so excited about the possibility of feeling better and not hacking and coughing so much. It is so embarrassing and I almost don't want to go anywhere because of it. Today, my sweet co-worker from across the building, came over to offer me a selection of various teas and cough drops because she could hear me suffering. It was so nice but I felt bad that I was subjecting the whole office to my germs and noise.
Work was fine today. I got there late because of the doctor appointment and long pharmacy wait but I was able to get a few things done that needed to be done and even clean my desk up a bit.
Friday nights are weird around here. I usually want to do something to celebrate the end of the week but Nova has practice until 9:00 pm. I liked going to our CrossFit class at 6:30 pm but they haven't been holding that class for awhile now. I thought Aaron and Sawyer and I were going to do something while Nova was at practice, but I guess our communication lines weren't very clear because Aaron went paddling by himself while Sawyer and I figured out what to do. Our minds were not very creative and we ended up at Target for more pharmacy stuff and then headed to Burger Fi for dinner. He is really into being healthy lately and it bordering on an obsession. On the days he doesn't go to CrossFit, he works out in his room doing burpees, squats and all kinds of other intense workouts. I am not that worried about it but I don't want it to get to the point that is unhealthy. He looks so skinny to me. I had to really try hard to talk him into Burger Fi. Luckily, Burger Fi has a great veggie burger and the option for a lettuce bun. Plus, he loves the fries. This week, I am going to focus on making sure to add more protein to his diet. I know he isn't getting enough and we need to do better about it.
I ran into my old friend Jewell at Burger Fi. I met her when I first moved to Sarasota (eight years ago) and she was my first running partner, helping me train for Disney Marathon and New York Marathon. She was my first paddleboarding friend, helped with our business, working our first few years of camps, and even came with us on our first Kauai SUP trip. She has popped in and out of our life since we have been here and I am reminded of how much I like her every time I see her. I need to try to be a better friend and keep these connections in tact.
I picked up Nova from gymnastics and got to watch the last few minutes of practice. I always love to watch her do gymnastics.
The evening ended with me giving the kids foot massages and then crashing. I have been having the kids tuck me in lately, instead of vice versa, because they want to stay up later than my healing body can handle.
Looking forward to the weekend days ahead!
