We had nothing to do today and I wanted to just stay home--make progress on business stuff, blog stuff, video stuff, and house stuff. I had some recipes I wanted to test and some business stuff I really need to work on. I was excited for a day to sleep in and just be.
In the morning, it was just as I wanted. Aaron headed out early to go fishing before he had to get to work and I got up late (9:00am!), made coffee and sat at the computer. Once the kids were finally up, Sawyer worked on editing our SNAK video from last week at iFly and got it uploaded. We decided to do a video per week when we do cool things rather than just a daily video post of random things. It seems more interesting.
I decided that we would clean off the pool deck before we did anything which didn't make the kids happy. Sawyer was fine spraying down the deck with the hose but Nova just stayed grumpy. When I threatened her with hours of I-ready (math program), she finally buckled down and was able to do her work. We got rid of an old table and chair set, cleaned off as much of the pollen as we could and re-arranged some furniture and plants. It looks much better. Nova started to develop an interest in re-decorating our house. She wants a surf-y theme and she had fun looking up ideas and starting to put together options for each of the rooms. I am loving that someone wants to work with me on this---I am not very good at it and need a partner in crime.
In the late afternoon, we decided to head back to the beach. We all were ready for some time away from the house and it was such a nice day. I realized it was time to get back in the water--both the air and the water temperature have warmed and it is perfect. Everyone else had the same idea--as the beach was packed with umbrellas and people. Sawyer brought the boogie board and Nova and I played in the waves. It was lovely.
Aaron didn't show up until right as we were packing up. He came carrying two paddleboards hoping Sawyer would go out and surf with him. Sawyer is looking so strong out there. The evening ended with me watching Aaron and Sawyer surf together, fire dancers were performing for us, music and dancing on the beach and big fireworks on the beach too. Perfection.
The kids don't have school tomorrow so they get to sleep in but I will still be getting up to work in the morning. I love mornings like that---with the whole house quiet, coffee drinking and writing. It is my favorite.
