Introducing Weekly Waves

A way to connect beyond the recipes

Hey there! I've been thinking about ways to share more of what's happening behind the scenes at The Surfer's Kitchen, and I realized I want to connect with you beyond just the recipes.

Don't get me wrong - I love creating and sharing new dishes inspired by coastal communities and my travels. But there's so much more that goes into this little corner of the internet, and I thought you might enjoy getting a peek into the process.

What is Weekly Waves?

Think of it as catching up with a friend over coffee. Every week, I'll be sharing:

  • What I just posted - The recipes that made it to the site and why I was excited about them
  • What's coming next - Sneak peeks at what I'm testing in the kitchen
  • Recent inspiration - Whether it's from travel, family visits, or just life happening
  • Random things keeping me busy - Because cooking isn't the only thing I do (shocking, I know)
  • Things I'm loving - Products, tools, or gear that are making my life easier
  • Fellow creators to check out - Other bloggers and creators doing amazing work

What to Expect

These posts will be more casual and conversational than my recipe content. I might talk about the new running shoes I'm obsessing over, the organizational systems that keep me sane, or how a random trip to Puerto Rico inspired my next recipe project.

I'll also share honest recommendations for products I'm actually using - from kitchen tools to random life stuff. Some of these will be affiliate links, which means I earn a small commission if you decide to purchase (at no extra cost to you). I only recommend things I genuinely use and love.

The goal is simple: give you a more complete picture of the person behind the recipes and maybe share some useful finds along the way.

When to Look For It

I'm planning to publish Weekly Waves every week - probably on weekends when I have time to reflect on what's been happening and what's ahead.

Some weeks might be packed with new recipes and travel stories. Other weeks might be quieter, focused on perfecting one dish or just sharing what's keeping me motivated in the kitchen.

Let's Make This Interactive

I'd love for this to be a conversation, not just me talking at you. If something I mention sparks a question, or if you want to know more about a recipe I'm working on, drop a comment. Your feedback helps me figure out what's actually useful versus what's just me rambling about my latest obsession.

Ready to dive in? The first official Weekly Waves is coming this weekend.

Talk soon, Karla
