Where did we eat?
Spur of the moment decision to check out Lila's on Main Street in Sarasota, Florida. We had been downtown with skateboards and wanted dinner. Our original plan of just hitting up Whole Foods was changed when we walked by Lila's. Menu looked good. Place didn't look too crowded. Lots of vegan and gluten free options. Looked like a winner.
Who's dining? Marlin (vegan and gluten free), Nova (all around carnivore with a sweet tooth), Sawyer (health conscious vegetarian), me (70% Paleo, 30% everything else).
First impression? Cute and appealing menu. Felt the manager/owner was a bit put off by a mom and three kids with skateboards and sat us at the bar, even though lots of empty tables that never filled up. But, it didn't really matter the kids enjoyed the bar and we got to chat with our waiter a lot more. He was nice and very attentive.
What did we eat?
We ordered drinks (local beer, local Kombucha on tap, homemade lemonade) and sweet potato wedges with cashew butter. Loved the cashew butter! It is on my list of recipes to experiment with.
Sawyer and Nova tried a pasta dish but they started eating too quickly and I didn't get a photo.
Would we go back?
Yes, I think so. We have such a wide assortment of different eating habits and restrictions in our family and Lila's would be able to accommodate all of them. They had great looking meat dishes on the menu but we didn't try any.
We eat out more than I would like to admit. I like to try new places like irish pub and I am one of those annoying people that has to take pictures of everyone's food before they dig in.
