So happy that it is Friday--the start of my birthday week celebration. I don't normally do much for my birthday but I decided that this year, I would celebrate....a little bit each day. It will be fun!
My car started to overheat on the way home from work yesterday so this morning I stopped in for an oil change before I made my way up to St Pete. The guy talked me into changing filters and wipers, which normally I wouldn't do, but the car has been good to me and I have neglected it for over a year. After only about 35 minutes, I was on my way to the office.
Today was a weird day at the office. It seemed most of the day was spent going from person to person, chatting about this or that. I had a great long chat with Mary in my branch, Maria, and Nikhil. I had lunch with Linda and her boyfriend Eric came and sat outside with us too. It seemed like the day was pretty unproductive on the work front but pretty productive in forming and maintaining relationships with my colleagues. That counts for something, right?
With my new schedule, I left in time to be able to pick the kids up at the bus. I even got there a few minutes early and was able to talk a bit with Courtney who is expecting her first baby(!).
I took Nova to practice and then came home and started to tidy up the house. I am thinking I want to stop having the housecleaners come. I love what they do so much but I think I want to use that money toward something else. If I save that money, I would be able to do another vacation every year. And, that is way more important to me. I need to find the little bits of time to keep the house clean and organized. And, I need to get the kids (and Aaron) to help more. I am working on that.
After practice, we all met at Burger Fi for dinner. Nova was a bit nervous that her cravings for a burger would overcome her but she got the veggie burger and loved it. She is sticking to her goal and doing great.
Weekend starts tomorrow!
