This morning was our regular morning of piano and guitar, gymnastics practice and cleaning the house.
I chatted with my best friend Leona (who I still call my best friend, even though I haven't seen her in ten years and we don't do a very good job of keeping in touch). I am so excited for her! She is pregnant! In college, she always wanted to be a mom and I thought she was crazy. Now, as my son is headed to high school, she gets to start the amazing adventure of motherhood. I am so happy for her and hope I can get to LA this summer to meet her little baby.
After gymnastics practice, I picked up Nova and her friend and we headed downtown for lunch at Whole Foods and then paddling in the mangrove tunnels. The kids were with Aaron as part of the Junior Waterman Training---where they got to practice paddleboard rescue techniques and other waterman skills. They are becoming pretty skilled waterman--it is fun to see.
For my birthday week celebration, I gave myself permission to go on a paddle. I met up with Janice for a nice leisurely paddle. She is recovering from an injury and isn't able to stand on the board yet but she sat and we paddled around Otter Key. The water was very glassy. There was no wind and there were fish jumping everywhere. It was great. We had time to talk about the next paddleboard yoga teacher training (coming up in two weeks) and to talk about other life things......She is so good to talk with.
After paddling, we made a quick stop at Target for frozen pizzas and then headed home. Nova and her friend made a YouTube video about how to make slime. Sawyer and I watched part of 13 Reasons Why, and Aaron got home late after fishing.
I found some old YouTube videos the kids made when they were really young. I am going to have to post them here so that I never lose them. They were so cute, playful and carefree. I love them.
