I worked today. Things seem to be light at the office right now, which is great. It doesn't happen very often but when it does, I need to savor it. I had a meeting with the attorneys today in their law library. Every time I am down there, I wonder why I never went to law school. Oh yeah, we decided Aaron going to art school was a better idea. During my lunch break, I interviewed a great candidate to work summer camps. While I was chatting with her, I saw this really huge snook just hanging out on the surface of the water. I probably really weirded her out, stopping our discussion mid-sentence to take a picture of the fish.
We are becoming a real Cross Fit family which translated means: We spend way too much money working out. This week, Nova decided she wanted to be a CrossFitter too and I realize it will help with her gymnastics so I couldn't deny her. Plus, I love being with the kids and this will give me more opportunity to be with them--and no excuses for not working out.
Aaron dropped them off at the 5:30 class (Scaps and Abs) and Nova was supposed to hang out after the first class while Sawyer did the CrossFit class at 6:30 too. I stopped by quickly just to give them hugs and say hello before my hair appointment. While I was there, Nova begged to do a double too. She was going to be there anyway and she insisted she wasn't tired. So, OK. Her very first CrossFit session and she goes for a double. Yay Nova! I think there will be a bit of friendly competition between the kids so that is good.
I had my hair appointment and then rushed home to help Nova study for her vocabulary test. The test on the whole book is tomorrow and she started to study tonight at 9:45 pm. I sure hope her teacher isn't reading this. I feel like we are all so ready for school to be over and I haven't been paying close attention to grades and tests etc. The teachers must feel this too, right? Need to get back on that track---as I need to make sure the kids finish the year strong.
Aaron was trying to be helpful tonight. He dropped off and picked up the kids. He made dinner. He even called me to ask what I wanted him to make. How about chicken and potatoes? (his specialty) I got home expecting a platter of roasted chicken and potatoes but instead it was a pot of chili made with chicken and potatoes. Yum! My bratty self got the best of me and I didn't want to eat it. Maybe I am just like Hannah Horvath after all. Seems like something she would do.
